Originating from 1998, this must be one of the oldest songs from the 0L4F archive. At the time, my compositions were influenced by L.T.J. Bukem’s jazz and ambient influenced side of drum and bass. The style became widely known as intelligent drum and bass, although both 0L4F and Bukem himself were opposed to the moniker, unhappy with the implication that other styles of jungle were not intelligent.

The entire song was created and mixed with a single AKAI S3000XL sampler, that had 32MB RAM, and sounds had to loaded from a series of floppy disks before each session. The AKAI was MIDI-sequenced with an ATARI ST computer running a cracked copy of Steinberg Cubase 2.0.

Samples from the first landing on the moon, Miranda Sex Garden, George Lucas’ “THX 1138” and Dead Can Dance all in one song? Hell yeah! 😉
